No Run First Inning analysis for every game
NRFI stands for No Run First Inning. It's a bet that neither team scores in the first inning of a baseball game. The opposite bet (YRFI) means at least one run scores in the first inning.
The score combines pitcher NRFI rates (40% weight), team offensive NRFI rates (30%), park factor for runs (15%), and weather conditions (15%). Higher scores indicate games more likely to have a scoreless first inning.
Historical first-inning NRFI rate is the primary factor. High strikeout rates, low walk rates, and low batting average against in the first inning all indicate a pitcher who can get through the first cleanly.
Cold temperatures and wind blowing in toward home plate suppress scoring and favor NRFIs. Hot weather and wind blowing out make it easier to score, favoring YRFIs. Dome and retractable-roof stadiums neutralize weather effects.
